MHS March 2026 Athlete of the Month

We’re excited to announce the student-athletes who have been named our March Athletes of the Month! 📣
These exceptional athletes from baseball, softball, boys and girls track and field, boys and girls golf and boys and girls tennis have shown outstanding dedication and sportsmanship on and off the field, track, course, or court!
Each coach took the time to write down summaries on why these individuals truly stand out. Let’s give a roaring cheer for these March stars! ⭐

Baseball: Danny came right out of the state wrestling tournament ready to be on the ball field. We can always count on DJax to give us all he’s got. Danny is hitting .308 at the plate as well as 4 RBIs and 4 stolen bases in 5 games. On the mound we know Danny will battle and go after every hitter he has 2 wins as a starter this year already. Last but not least the ground he covers in center field is a huge asset to have Danny has given his all to this program the last 4 years!
- Coach Mitch Andresen

Softball: Brooklin has been an exceptional leader on and off the softball field. She has shown great confidence behind the plate as our leading catcher. Brooklin has caught 7 straight games, holds a leading on base percentage of .400, has 4 RBIs, and has hit one home run. Thank you Brooklin for your hard work.
- Head Coach Bailey Daniels

Boys Track & Field: Brock is not only extremely talented in the throws, and has already marked a few personal bests in the season, but he is also very encouraging and supporting to the rest of the team. He always brings positivity, lifts others up, and helps even coach and guide his peers. We are very proud of Brock and excited for what he is going to do next in the season.
- Head Coach Mario Mendoza

Girls Track & Field: Hope has already marked 2 personal bests in a meet, a few more during our time trials, and she brings a lot of encouragement to the team. She always has positive things to say to those around her. What stood out about Hope this month was that she has been accepting the challenges that the coaches have been giving her, and it's paid off. She is modeling the type of breakthroughs we want to see on the teams when athletes can trust the process and the encouragement from coaches.
- Head Coach Mario Mendoza

Boys Golf: In our limited action thus far this year, Tate has been the leader of the herd that we all expected him to be. In addition to his 4.33 GPA, Tate leads by example at practice, and with his ability in competition. He was our low man at Indian Creek in Hood River in our only stroke play event of the season thus far, firing an 82 that placed him T4 in the 44 person field. He also was part of an outstanding duo in our home invitational, The White Buffalo Scramble, that tied for second place overall with a 5-under par 66 at Crooked River Ranch. As we move forward into our new league schedule that debuts this year, we have high hopes that Tate will win the season long race and be crowned Tri-Valley Player of the Year.
- Head Coach Johnny Wilson

Girls Golf: Matty came out for golf because her coach "talked" her into golf for something to do. Since Day 1, she has had a great attitude and has worked very hard to improve her skill. She has improved tremendously and has been a great addition to our golf program.
- Head Coach Allen Hair

Boys Tennis: MHS Boys Tennis takes great pleasure in honoring Nevin Scott for March's Athlete of the Month 2026. As a sophomore and newcomer to tennis, Nevin has embraced the sport with open arms. He is not only a true competitor, but a perfectionist. He takes everything to heart, making him a coachable sponge where he is learning and improving his skills and knowledge every day. It is no wonder he has earned a place on the varsity team. By combining these characteristics with his natural athleticism and continued thirst for personal success, he will be a force to be reckoned with in the future and beyond.
- Coach Kincaid and Assist. Coach Brandon

Girls Tennis: Nancy is a senior this year and this is her 4th year playing tennis on the varsity team, she always comes to practice and games with a positive and outgoing attitude. She was also nominated as one of the captions of the team this season. She also demonstrates great leadership on and off the court. We are exited to see where your season will go this year!
