Introducing Madras High School’s September Athletes of the Month!

We are thrilled to kick off the 25-26 school year by celebrating our September MHS Athlete’s of the Month! These exceptional athletes from cross country, boys and girls soccer, football, volleyball, and cheerleading have shown outstanding dedication and sportsmanship on and off the field.

Each coach took the time to write down summaries on why these individuals truly stand out. Let’s give a roaring cheer for these September stars!

Football: Orion Reynoso has been a playmaker in all phases of the game — racking up 422 yards and 3 TDs on offense, making 16 tackles with 1 for loss on defense, and sparking momentum with several big kick returns. His versatility and impact have been felt everywhere on the field.

Cross Country: This athlete is the example of courage and overcoming adversity. She has been battling asthma over the course of a few years here in our Cross Country program. She is never the one to quit or to make an excuse. She has only ever pushed through and achieved success in the sport of Cross Country. She has steadily improved her race times and set new personal records for herself every season.

She is a strength in a program, as well as, the best example of what it means to succeed through adversity. She has a strong foundation of grit and is hands down one of the mentally toughest athletes in our program.

Girls Soccer: Cierra is one of our captains. Through her hard work, determination, and leadership, she has made a lasting impact on our team. Her leadership, respect, and character goes beyond the game.

She leads by example—always maintaining a positive attitude, cheering on her teammates, and encouraging them to keep going. It’s an honor to recognize Cierra. She proves that true success is measured not only by performance, but by the person she is every single day.

Boys Soccer: Kenjhy Espinoza has adjusted to new position with a great attitude. He works hard every game and has been consistent and listens to instructions well. And is always looking to improve. His work rate on the field is unmatched. He covers the most grounds despite not being very big in stature but his presence is felt. He defends and plays offense. The type of player any coach would want to have.

Volleyball: Ana Boyle deserves all the recognition!! She is a captain on our team and continues to prove why she was chosen over and over again. She is the teammate everyone wants to have; she’s supportive, encouraging, and works hard at every practice and game. She is incredibly coachable and every practice we work on something new, she implements it right away which has made her an outstanding player each game.

In our game against Molalla, she had 21 kills hitting over 0.375% and had 14 digs. As a team we rely on her performance in each game and she consistently delivers. We are so lucky to have her on this team and as a coach, I am so grateful she is only a junior! Go Ana and Go Buffs!

Cheerleading: Railee is new to our team this year as a freshman. She is a hard worker, picks up choreo quickly and is always asking what she can do better. We are so proud of her and cant wait to see her continue to grow her love for cheer.
